There are two ASC McLaren convertibles near where I work. I've never seen a hatch before.

IIRC I had a model of a McLaren Mustang when I was a kid; didn't know there was a Capri...

Also, yes, there was a McLaren Mustang model, and yes, that was the cover car. Unfortunately, the actual model was pretty much a carb'd 2.3T Capri with the McMLaren Mustang nose. No flares, wrong engine, etc. That one is on my bench to be built properly.

Egads, do I want I fox Capri in the worst way, even a non-McLaren one. What's wrong with me?!?

I'd rather have a Fox-body Capri over a Mustang any day of the week.

You've been reading the box flares thread, I suspect. Capri fenders are a bit more flared.

That McLaren Capri would be tempting if I had a bit more cash in my next car fund. Seriously.

I poked around a later mclaren mustang and it was nowhere near as cool as this. I think by the late 80s a lot of the bodywork stuff was too over the top. This stuff seems to work ok, though. It's pretty cool.

Taillights are the weakest area. They channel early Dodge Daytona a little too strongly.

I'm not a big fan of the McLaren Mustang convertibles, but I'd rock that Capri!

Love the cockpit-inspired gauges and dashboard. Too bad you can't really unscrew all of them!

My friend built an '83 Capri with a later 5.0 with a T5. Fun car. And factory box flares don't hurt any!
