This is an aftermarket cat that came off a Nissan Murano.
The quality of design is amazing...

How is that supposed to work exactly? Does it reduce emissions by not releasing the exhaust, thus killing the engine, and forcing you to bike to work?
That pipe in the OP makes my head hurt. But I'll post up a few other hack jobs for your viewing pleasure.
I have others, but I don't want to break the internets.

Grr, can't find it. Someone made a zero-emissions 12A header. It was a Racing Beat manifold flange and a short 180 bend.

I'd like to laugh at those, but then I remember that my welding skills aren't quite that high even.
I can laugh at the JB Weld radiator though. That had to cost more in JB than having a rad shop put on new tanks...

they were obviously after that titanium exhaust tubing look where it has to be cut into small sections and rewelded to make bends...

as embarrassing as it is to say … those welds are at least as nice as mine LOL
I need a welder and lots of scrap steel on which to practice LOL

I want to know more about the turbos welded to the mufflers. I would love to hear the thought process on that lol

I certainly wasn't a good English student in school, learn me why that's not correct. (Not being a dick, just genuinely honest)
Never mind the terrible intake adapter, scary welds and the steel connected to cast iron. What engine is that? The valve covers are Ford blue, and look a bit like cologne V6 covers, but the exh manifolds are all wrong, and the front doesn't look right either.

Yep thats what I was going to say. Poor engine

I think he's implying that they have no thought process. Not an attack against you, but against the perpetrators of the above documented monstrosities.
bgkast asks, he shall receive:
First, a non-welded hack job
That's about all I have. The welds aren't usually the worst part of these pics, it's the engineering that went into it.

Oh, sorry -- no slam on you at all! Seeing you poke a little fun at the "thought process" that would have gone into the muffler-mounted turbo immediately made me think of the whole "inconceivable" bit in The Princess Bride. Because I don't think they had any thought in their process :)

He's agreeing with you, emphasizing the words "thought process" which you used, and suggesting that excessive thinking was probably not part of the problem.
Got it lol.
I would love to see the inside of that muffler to see if they plumbed it through the muffler body, or if they just welded all the pipes to the muffler hoping that it would work lol.
