Of course I was serious. I made no mention of 70s carbs or 90foot plumes of smoke, so no idea why you got so specific. I simply stated that the majority of us are in violation of the same law, which is a fact regardless of how visible, or how much worse for the environment you think one is compared to the other. That being said I do think rolling coal is stupid.
with all the emissions checks most of us have to endure, I really doubt that most of us are in violation of the emissions laws … there are still OEM cats on all my vehicles …from brandy new Sonic to 23 yr old "race" car (even though it's the only one that does't get checked … though ST rules still require a cat)

The RX-7 doesn't have a cat for what should be obvious reasons, but the turbo VW I have been glacially putting together WILL have a cat. I mean, I don't see why not. It has a stock cam so it should run glass-smooth, very catalyst friendly.
