I don't know squat about nissans. Helpabruthaout.
Car is a 90-92 Nissan Stanza "2400" on valve cover (2.4L I assume?) Is this a "KA24E?" I'm finding diagrams for "Z-series" engines, "CA-series" (which I'm guessing is just california smog specific?) "VG-series," "KA24E," and "KA24DE," (turbo?) I don't have the car in my posession, so the diagrams don't mean squat.
Thanks!

I don't know much but I'll tell you what I do know.
The KA24E is the SOHC 2.4 they put in the Stanza.
As far as nomenclature goes, the first two letters is the series, the numbers indicate the displacement, and then the letters are additional details, for example, "E" somehow means injected, and "D" as in KA24DE, is for DOHC, "T" is turbo, etc.

KA24E should be what came in the car.....at least according to my favorite source of engine codes....wikipedia.

ZING!!! Yes, I saw that too. I've also seen the wiki entry on the first gen. crx, as well as the movie "JAWS," both of which, last time I checked, had pant-loads of misinformation.
Deciding whether or not to buy and swap a waterpump and thermostat for a friend in need, and determining how big of a pain in the ass it will be if I say "yes."

That's why I made sure to list my reference. I love wikipedia, but take the info with a grain of salt.

KA 24 series is a tractor motor. Lots of torque, not a lot of RPMs. Love turbos. Ricer boys throw them away for SR20DTs, and then get blown off by a KA24DET. Turbo. Enjoy, it will last forever.

They're a pain when you pull that stuff apart because you have to re-time the motor and get the distributor keyed to the oil pump. Apparently that's a pain, at least that's what I've been told
