Good god. Do you have any other choices? That seems like choosing between the clap and gonorrhea.
My suspicion is that they want to spend under $15k per unit for something with a pseudo-wagon style. If you look at the other choices that pretty much gets you a lot of crappy choices.
HHR
PT Cruiser
Dodge Caliber
Personally, I have always thought that once the bean counters get involved that we will all get Dodge Calibers in either 2wd or 4wd. I would rather have a Escape over a Caliber.
Sure, there is the Fit or the Element but it seems to me that Honda does not throw out the fleet discounts (or need to throw out the discounts) the way the others do. Same for Scion.

I was thinking the same thing. Oddball choices. Oh and the Escape has gotta be the clap then.
The Cube will probably get better gas mileage and stand out a little more. Personally, i'd just go for the Cube since every other fleet vehicle is an Escape to me..
We've been replacing our Cherokees with hybrid Escapes at work and they are much nicer, but then it maight be like comparing herpes to the clap,it seemed like there was no way to get rid of the Cherokees.
I thought gonorrhea and the clap were the same thing.
I've driven a 4-banger Ford Escape (rental car) for over 1000 miles, mostly interstate, over the course of three days. It wasn't great but it was tolerable.
No experience with the Nissan, but they look a little cartoon-ish to me. Business owners like quirky cars because they help with branding.
Just be glad the PT Cruiser isn't in the mix. I got one of those as a rental car once - ugh!
