I was looking at the soon to be released Niisan Juke when it hit me, the Juke is the new Datsun F10.
Actually, I find the Juke "interesting."

I like the concept ok, but man that thing's ugly. Honestly, without the big round lights in the bumper and with a minor re-style, I might actually be considering buying one. As it sits, seems like buying one would get you laughed at by Aztek owners.
As long as you do not opt for the AWD you can get a 6 speed manual in the FWD version. If it is AWD then it is CVT.
1.8L turbo
The comparison to the F-10 is well-noted and interesting. Apparently Datsun/Nissan has been turning out bizarrely-styled cars for quite a while now.
I don't find the shape all that upsetting. But I can only wonder if some sacrifices were made as far as ingress/egress and visibility are concerned. I don't consider myself a likely buyer, but then I'm looking for a 300 HP minivan that gets 30 MPG and handles like a Miata.

Having read the GRM review (panning) of the new Acrua ZDX, i too wondered what it would be like to get into the back seat of this Juke. What I find interesting is that the window line is not shared with the door line. My guess here is that it is actually quite easy since the door opening looks quite square. But, there is quite a reduction in headroom for the rear, just look at the downward slope of the roofline.
For visibility, tha is a huge C-pillar but then big C-pillars seem to commonplace anymore. Note the current xB for comparison.
I think the difference between the F10 and the Juke is that the 10 looks ugly (to me, anyway) because of the nasty looking plastic add-ons. Take, for instance, the wheel covers. Fewer and fewer cars are sold with wheel covers anymore, and those that are don't have covers that look like they cost the car manufacturer all of $0.15....for a set of FOUR. Also, other parts of the 10's design look random, like no one part is styled to compliment or even consider how it works with any other part. HUGE silver surrounds for the headlights wouldn't look nearly so bad, if the grille didn't look like a BLACK box or slit. Then they stuck tiny looking CHROME mirrors on the doors. Imagine if the mirrors had had body colored housings and would therefore not have been so noticeable.
The inside of the 10 is even worse looking.
BTW, long before there was Nissan and Infiniti, Nissan/Datsun in Japan had at least 2 marketing "outlets" or brands. Think Ford and Mercury. At one of these outlets, the cars were VERY conservatively styled....literally, very square. At the other brand outlet, the cars were sort of ANTI-Nissans. Resulting in cars like the B210 and F10.
