There's no heater fan running in my 2001 Astro. Common problems are the 3-knob control panels crap out and the blower resistors will burn out. Strangely, the replacement resistors from three different sources don't fit the housing, so I plugged in the replacement resistor and tried the fan anyway, without mounting it in the housing no fan. Changed the control panel out, no fan. Tried all the combinations of control panels and resistors with similar results. With a test light I do get power from either resistor pack at the terminals that connect to the fan. So, I wired up the two terminals on the fan housing to the battery and still no fan, so I'm assuming the fan itself is dead. It's also the biggest pain to change, too. No multimeter, so if I go get one would I expect to get an open circuit in a dead motor, and some resistance in a good one? Anything else I might be missing? I've checked all the fuses and even swapped the relays around in the fuse block.

If you hardwired power and ground to the fan and it still doesn't work, you've eliminated everything else. It's the fan motor.

Put a new fan, resistor and control panel in it yesterday and this morning . Everything is working normally. The fan and the resistor with both berkeleyed and the lights hadn't been working in the control panel for a while.
