I used to like Supercar. Allot of close racing. 'Til they did away with the pushing banging and shoving.....Now no burnout celebration? "Preserve their tyre banks"? Aussies....I don't get it.

No Burnouts!?

Maybe they get a limited tire supply like in F1, in that case it would be understandable...

Edit: Nope it's mostly the guys who run it being stuffy dicks.

The article said it screws up the TV coverage of the podium. Which we all know is numbah one, that's what pays the bills.

That is, then missing, some of the best TV coverage, showing/sharing the drivers winning joy and elation.

The tires are often worn out anyway

Maybe it's the air polution

Preserve tires after a race? Right...

That is funny...

speedcafe.com said: In New Zealand, van Gisbergen stayed on the track for several minutes doing burn-outs, and as a result was unable to get his car through the pit lane Parc Ferme area to the podium.

More likely... Can't mess with air time...

A year or two ago The Giz drifted his victory lap. THAT was cool to see.

I loved the justification that they need to set an example for younger audience on how to behave...Correct me if I'm wrong but drivers race for their sponsor, the sponsor doesn't do the filming, a media company pays the racing body to cover the event so they can get commercials, etc, and the sponsor pays the racing body to race, so how is it that one side can dictate to drivers what they can and can't do?
