Yeah, still mulling over the wheels. They are actually in good shape under the dirt so Im not sure about painting them just yet. Maybe I'll viny wrap them for now to try some ideas. I do know about the cheap MBC's and its on the list but first I need to fix some things (like no blowoff/bypass valve) The factory boost guage is inop so if Im going to be messing with boost I should probably have a gauge first too. The PO also removed the factory FMIC and although its small and not very useful its better than nothing. I dont want to stress the system too much until it comes back from BABE. Then I'll start to see what I can get out of her.

I might have an old spare boost gauge laying around, no promises but I'll try to look. Intercooler would be very good, XR4s don't have any ICs with IATs over 180°F so I'm very familiar with the problems. You can knock back a few degrees of timing to 'make it safe' for BABE if its got mechanical adjustment, I don't know much about these motors though...

after looking at the above pics, your rims would look nice in red

like this:

headlights as eyes:

with eyes painted on:

I'd also hit the turn signals with some Krylon stained glass red, and paint on the A-10 mouth, presto!

And it has been suggested that I fab up a faux 50 cal chaingun like an A-10 in the nose....thinking on that one still

Not to nitpick but if you wanted a gun like the front of an a-10 it would actually have to be about ~2.5 times bigger than a 50 cal (30mm) and you'd need to extend the length of your automobile to fit the whole thing in it.

Otherwise... good job.

It's a legitimat nitpic, I should have known it wasnt a 50cal, just wasnt thinking, just parroting what the person who suggested it said.

And yes, I've seen those guns "outside" the winged transport unit ('cause lets face it, the A-10 was just a way to move the gun) and that's definitely a "gonna need a bigger boat" kind of scenario.

I was at the "gathering of mustangs" airshow and an airman was showing off the size of the cartridge and round for the A10 - it was amazing. Just one of those is devastating, much less 50 - 70 per second.

Almost missed this. If you find that spare boost gauge shoot me an email jim at misfittoysracing dot com. Definitely interested, rather give my money to a GRMer than a random ebay person :)

It seems to be running ok even without the IC, PO had it that way for quite awhile. General consensus is the factory IC was darn near useless anyway. Still I'd like to put one on eventually, just dont think I have the funding pre-rally to get all the bits together even if I went with PVC for the piping :)
