Not the best way to pull or install a transmission. 
Thankfully, it is just a little NV1500 for my S10. It's in now though. Now, if I can just remember what happened to my hydraulic floor jack...

glad it worked out. I've only pulled one before, and it didn't work out well, either. (I had to make a new transmission carrier afterwards)
I just use my legs and a creeper. Im the trans jack. They are fairly light.
They are light enough, but it was 4 on the floor. I didn't have the truck up on stands or anything. What you said did cross my mind though. Sad thing is, I forgot I wanted to replace the rear main seal while the trans was out. Damn...
