And as usual (think Scirocco) can't have.
That would have been a VERY nice coupe for Saturn if they were still around.
Wonder if GM will bring it to the states as a Chevy?
That should be the Chevy Sonic, not the tarted up Aveo that they are planning on selling as the Sonic.

The Sonic shares nothing with the old Aveo and that Astra wouldn't be in the same class as the Sonic.
This just in - More Coupe News -
"The crew at Inside Line reports that Hyundai is planning to unveil a new coupe version of its Elantra at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. The two-door compact would help the 40-mile-per-gallon Elantra compete more effectively against the rival Honda Civic, and as IL points out, the vehicle would also set the stage for an R-Spec offering, as well.
According to the whispers kicking around the web, Hyundai may show off a high-horsepower Elantra Coupe later down the line that packs a 208 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, but at first, buyers can expect the same 1.8-liter naturally aspirated four-pot found in the current Elantra Sedan to show up under the hood. Still, that engine delivers 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers beat out the Civic by 8 hp and 3 lb-ft of torque while delivering better fuel economy."
the Elantra coupe should be nice. I guess Hyundai needs to fill the gap left when the Tiburon was discontinued.
Does GM have anything to compete with the Mazda2/ Fiesta class cars (or does the Aveo count) ? If not then I would think they'd have to bring something like this here.

That's an idea! I haven't heard that, but we can always hope.
Looks interesting, I'm just curious how that roofline in the back and hatch affect putting stuff in/out of the hatch.
Just looks kind of funky.
you sure it is slower? I know it said that in the article... but I took it as a typo. The sentence basically said it was wider and slower.. I am sure they meant "lower"

We even got the 3-dr version similar to the one pictured.
Nobody bought it. In typical American fashion, a big complaint was a lack of cup holders... and IIRC, they were put on the market afterr the demise of Saturn had been announced which can't have helped any.
Neat car, though... rare to see one on the roads.
