How about setting up a meet that falls on an autox Sunday out there in Toledo. I have heard there is a good autox club out there , NW Ohio SCCA? More bang for the buck and we can bring a couple challenge cars as well
I think that sounds awesome... where are they running this weekend?
What do you mean Toledo is under a foot of snow until March?

The first date has a different site right now, but this will be the permanent site.
JB, you have way too much time, thank you.
By the way the "Convoy Compound" is always open for a BBQ and wrenching session.
Preferred days of the week suggestions requested, we want to make it available to the maximum number.
Just so I'm clear (it happens rarely) Lansing on the 31st is off and something will happen in Ohio? Date TBD ?
Yeah I would do Lansing but I have an appointment in Daytona that weekend.
This is not just for Ohioans, but for any GRMers and their car buds to have a get together and bullE36 M3 about the next project with 3215hp & 8463ft lbs in a Starlet

Sweet! I'm bringing my $100 Neon! If I don't show it's because I'm stranded on I96.
I'm in... Any reply from Snook's yet? They're only a couple miles from my house, and I've known the lead mechanic out there for several years, so if I can provide any logistical help let me know.
Something else to look into in the area would be North Coast Sportscars. Less than a half hour from BG, and might get a group-rate on dyno pulls or something.
I had not heard of these guys.

But, I did recognize Larry's Blurple Datsun Z from back in my Toledo Autocross days.
You know, for all the years that I have been in the area, I have never been to Shnooks.
There used to be another guy in BG who had a cool car collection. If I remember, this guy owned a manufaturing company over near the BG WalMart. I can not remember the name of the business but I seem to remember that he kept a car collection on site. Is this the same guy?
There is another unlikely private collection of cars in Toledo. It is in an increadibly non-descript location. Of the Cental Ave Strip, there is a side street directly across from Kistler Ford. At the dead end of that little road there is a plain jane 2 story office building. One half of the entire first floor is a garage that rivals the look of Jay Leno's garage. Easily 20 or more cars ranging from Rolls Royce(old) to Cord/Dues to historic race cars and more modern uniques. The rest of the building house the Architechure business of the owner. I was there once about 12 years ago.
Hmmmm perhaps if some of us "southerners" head up to BG for the spring meet, the fall SWOGR rally may get some additional headcount from the north...
This cockamaymee scheme may just work out after all
put me and mrs. fury on the maybe pile of RSVPs. Depends on the date at this point.

Snooks is the same guys you remember... The father sold the business, and he and his son Jeff moved things to the outside of town where they are now.
Don't know about the guy in Tood-le-doo, but there is a shop off of the Anthony Wayne Trail that has a few cool cars in the office. Last time I was there, he had an e-type jag, Porsche 944 cup car, and a Daimler sp-250. Lots more cool stuff sitting outside.

Good idea, but I recommend scheduling it for a weekend when we run at Toledo Airport. Some of the other sites are pretty crappy.
In reply to grafmiata:
Well I'm in the far west suburbs of Cleveland so I'm not scheduling anything over in Toledo, I'm about an hour away. I have heard about Toledo and the airport auto-x and would like to check it out regardless. It seems more than a few Toledo regulars visit our auto-x at Northfield park. I would like to check out the Toledo scene and figured the local GRMers would be down for it this SPRING.
time to get this thread back on track, will contact Snooks tomorrow.
Anybody else want to organize a get together in our region?
You'll need to log in to post.
