Hey guys, I have a question about cleaning O2 sensors...I believe we're fouling them due to a slightly rich tune. Eventually they go crazy and are pitch black with soot when we pull them out--it would be nice if we could bring some of them back from the dead. From what I read, I couldn't tell if anyone had successfully done this before.

As I understand it, solvents and cleaners won't help much for baked-on carbon, so a torch might be the right tool. Before I experiment on my precious widebands, though, I'd like to hear a success story! Anyone have one?

Thanks!

Josh

Never done it myself, but I've been told a propane torch will burn off carbon accumulation.

Mine are always sooty black, and work just fine. Have you tried re-calibrating? (Innovate trick.)
