Looking for recommendations for an OBD II Reader and related software for a 2005 Ford Mustang
Day Job has prevented my investing any time in this part of the RAT Mustang
There is no HI TECh / HI ZUTE stuff going on right now with the ride.
Need basic view of what is happening under the hood
Thanks
How much money do you want to spend? I use a no-name blue in color reader from amazon and the free Torque app on my phone.
Anything from the hammer store will work fine. Unless you plan on dumping it, get one with srs/abs capabilities.

FORscan, a laptop, and a USB to OBD2 cable.
I also came to recommend Forscan. It's incredibly powerful and free if you're running it on a pc.
OBD Link 1 Arrived today
Laptop due back from getting memory upgraded (not required, but needed for another application).
So, the process begins.
Thanks
Please update your progress, I may need this some day.
I have not used Forscan yet. A bit with TorquePro, but I need someone that can dumb that stuff down for me.

It's not difficult. Download the program, buy the yr package, it's only $12,which is like 1 million rubles, and plug in.
Its really intuitive. Used it on both the explorer and Mustang and eliminated a bunch of annoying bullE36 M3.
Thanks Ranger50.
