Buddy of mine just bought a JK Wrangler. It's throwing a CEL for what I suspect is a bad cat. Are there any OBD scanners/apps specifically for Wranglers? A quick google search showed that Quadratec makes one but I'm not sure it's any different than what you could buy on Amazon, and Quadratec is out  of stock anyway

OBD-II is standardized, so any scanner should be able to read it. A cheap ELM327-based scanner and the Torque app on your phone should get you what you need.

Looking up the code in a Jeep-specific manual is always good though. You'll get more information than the generic universal code.

I used to have a Grand Cherokee that worked this way. You can pull codes without a scanner using the key and the odometer.
