I would like to convert the crx challenge car to OBD1.
It's a 1987 CRX Si with a 1989 Integra D16A1. It has the integra ecu. I would like to convert it from obd0 to obd1 to make turbo charging easier.
Questions:
1. What ecu should I use
2. Where's a good place to get a wiring diagram it install it
you can EASILY chip and tune the 90-91 civic ecu (pm6), plug it right in, and tune the engine with that. then, you wont have to mod an OBD1 distributor (NEED to when converting), and pay for an ecu.
we prefer tuning the OBD0 stuff with Turboedit. it wonderful software. and free. we tuned gutty on it, and won this year.
PGMFI.org has info on turboedit. its very simple, and less buggy than crome.
Like was said OBD0 might be a better fit. However, if you do want to do it, you need obd1 injectors and distributor and obd1 ecu.
Pfmfi.org has tons of wiring diagrams. You can also buy pre-made conversion harnesses to change the ecu connection.
Is the 87 'rex even OBD0? I thought they were pre-obd?

Maybe. But the engine and ecu are from an 89 Integra.
Thanks for the obd0 info guys. I'm on the road today. Will dig into it more when I get home.
Ah, well carry on then Turboedit worked very well on my DOHC ZC (very nearly the same motor you had) and was extremely easy to learn as well!
old crxs were obd0 (less the distributor wiring, due to vaccum advance.)
add dizzy wiring ,and its obd0-normal. they have the same plugs, etc.
Any of you want to come to Birmingham, AL and teach me turbo tuning...............
