Occasional Autotrader lust of the day.

Signing out of hotmail brings me to MSN which has those alluring click-bait articles of sub $5k cars near you to waste my time with.   Played along for a mo' narrowed it down to Nissan/Datsun of course and came up with an '07 Spec V Sentra.  I think I can talk myself out of making a really bad decision but I might need a little help here.  I'm not fond of black unless it's full size but it is stick and Spec-V.  Miles aren't bad at 118k approx. but there are scuff/wear issues that belie that - stuff 30 years ago would scream odo. roll-back but today I don't know.  Basically talk me out of it and not in an 'all Nissans are E36 M3' way.

If I do something stupid I swear I'll at least go to my first auto-cross too. 

Never been a fan of that body style, personally. If you try really hard you can find an Altima SE-R for that money and they are vastly more powerful and better looking imo. Probably similarly adept at autoX. Are you actually looking for a car?

I saw a run and drive Mazdaspeed 3 that I think just needed a fender and a bumper go for 1750 last week on Copart, I'd rather a speed 3 than the Sentra, but if I was getting a Sentra I would buy the old boxy SER

Oh God no.  Two running and driving ones are enough for now.  It's just tempting at that price if they're any good or fun or rare. 

I saw one of those the other day--it drove by while I was waiting to make a left. It was one of the yellow ones, too. Before that, can't remember the last time I saw one. Neat car but they seem to have disappeared. 

The weird orphan car that seems to always catch my eye is the Kizashi. I see one and go that looks nice and then realize what it is.

My occasional AutoTrader lusts usually involve Jaaaaags. But sanity eventually saves me so I have yet to ever buy one.

Suzuki built a turbo one, and I got to drive it. It was in Colorado, but even at altitude it felt good. I sometimes see one park at the Publix near the office.

I actually added these two at the same time but whilst yes answer and handling are what these two are about just not my cups of tea.

Not quite as nice a red color interior as the Kia. 5k RX8.

Good to know that an 07 Spec V doesn't appear to be a buy it now or regret 10 years from price hike away judging by the moderate enthusiasm.

Wait, what's wrong with what it is? I've driven a loaded one and i slightly preferred it to a TSX which i think is a fair comparison for a top-line Kizashi.
