I have purchased three brand new vehicles

2004 Dodge Stratus 

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 

One was a manual. The Cobalt. 

Zero.  Our family-mobiles are auto and my enthusiast car purchases have all been used.

I've never bought a new car. Been poor all of my life. Not technically "poor " now, but when you're 65 and still paying on your student loans, you don't buy new cars. 

Out of nearly 30 vehicles in 50 years of driving, about half had a manual transmission.

But mixed in among these were a few other used cars with manual transmissions. 

Nowadays, I am (reluctantly) driving 2 cars with automatic transmissions:

An 06 Mustang V6 and a 13 Fusion (NON Eco-boost).

3 new cars in my life, all sticks.

Everything since was used and mostly SUV's.  

I haven't purchased a new car yet, but my next car will be new and will have a clutch because: 

People who have never purchased a new, brown, manual, diesel wagon do not have a right to complain about the dearth of these vehicles.

I have bought one new car in my life.  A 1997 200SX SE-R.  It was a manual.  I had it for a year before trading it on a one year old GS-R Integra.

I am seriously considering the purchase of a new Jeep Gladiator Willys 6-Speed.   If that happens I will be 2 for 2 manual.
