That sucks man, still it was awesome to see. Gonna see it back next year?

Actually Dante,
Bryce won the best engineered and the evil alliance award.
This was a really great event, and fun to meet all the people. I can see how this would be addicting. Now for Bryce to come up with something for next year.

Big thanks from Team Phostiva to the GRM staff for putting on an awesome event and all of the competitors for a great time, was totally worth the trip from Texas! There's not a better group of people on the planet, we really enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing all of the awesome feats of automotive engineering. We'll be back next year with a new car and hopefully a bribe to one-up the kegstiva :) We've got 15hrs in the free candy van to start planning and scour all the craigslist cities along the way...
If I bring it back next year it will be with a 2cyl and used to go back and forth to the track.
Plans are to restore it to it's original condition when I get home.

All fun aside, that little fiat was one of the highlights of my trip, running or not!
Yea, it was darn cool.
Thanks to everyone for coming. We're already working on next year's event and I've got a few subtle tweaks planned for the rules.

Looks like you all had an awesome time. I miss being down there in the middle of the excitement. Can't wait to surf through all the updates and read the articles in the mag!
2010 early smack: Wheels finished right under Uranus, the lead sled (best engineered) finished even further back. Sometimes twice the thought and twice the money doesn't pay off.
We had a great time, thanks to the GRM staff for allowing us to come again. Next year Uranus will be ready for the overall.
Our top 3 JG announcing quotes: 1.(hood up at drag strip) Guido has his head in Uranus. 2. (autocross) They're really punishing Uranus out there. 3. (autocross) That was a great time with Scott in Mikes Uranus.
Ok, I do believe I'm going to have to bring my 24hrs of Lemons car, just so I can smack Mike over the head with it. My ancient 260k mile beater $350 Datsun would smack that Starion like a cheap whore on both the autocross and the drag strip and I can bet, if 40% of the battery pack on the Hybrid Fiero wasn't DOA and our plans to get something better than 4+ year old BFG Touring TA all season radial's had panned out, you'd have seen a low 14, maybe even a 13 second 1/4 mile and several seconds off at the AutoX. Actually, with tires alone, it would have spanked your Starion and looked WAY better doing it.
Watch out. You've been baited by Guido into a match of wits. Now he's going to drag you down to his level and beat you up with experience.
I had a great time as always and a huge thanks of course goes out to GRM. Even though the event occurs only once a year, there are so many friends made and remembered. This likely has to be one of the best conglomerations of good people that can be found. There were some very cool cars this year as well and the bar continues to be raised ever higher. I look forward to 2010!! In the mean time, I'm off to recover.

i'm fricken exhausted. i just unloaded gutty of big tom's trailer, and let it warm up while i pulled the good tires off and put them in my basement.
once warm, i cruised around the block. nearly crying, bummed that challenge is over. i recovered by doing a 100 foot burnout in front of my house, leaving two loving patches of worn Kumho Chop-Top vcrx tires. my father in law laffed.
i love challenge so much. i love GRM so much, thanks for the love buddies....glad our little friend gutty could go out with a bang. luke, myself , and all the team/buddies thank you for the wonderful vacation involving no sleep.
also...thanks for the EPIC DRAG BATTLES PAT! you are my favorite new rival. great work! you amazed me so much...what a car, what a crew, what driving.....
cant WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR!

I wasn't sure what to expect with our first visit to the Challenge, but the BFH Racing team had a great time, even though our 12a could only pull an 18.1 on the drags. I've already started a list of upgrades for next year!
Thanks to everyone who was so nice to our first time team!

Correct. And neither did the bicycle!

I haven't felt that old in a long time! Single speed, coaster brakes. I can't tell you how much I wanted another gear by the end.
Our 1/4 mile trap speed was 20% slower than our 1/8 mile trap speed!
At least I had a professional driver on the back!!

THAT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME.....now if someone just builds a suppository car.
Awesome, awesome time once again. Thanks to all that worked on putting the event together as well as to all those who participated...especially Adam and the Gutty crew! Racing with you guys was a blast...let's line them up again next year! :-)
In reply to SVreX:
this minivan passed us, in the blue bug, on the way home waving frantically. we were puzzled until we saw a tandem schwinn stapped to the top of the van.
I made it home safe and sound not too bad. drive down race drive home. Thanks to all. For a lot of fun. See you all next year. Stan
