Sometimes i get a laugh out of their shipping prices. "Very funny rockauto, how much is shipping really going to cost?"

I've found it varies quite a bit depending on which warehouse the part is coming from. But generally, I agree - shipping on some parts is more than the sales tax and buying a similar part locally. It pays to shop around and many of the FLAPS websites will say if your local store has it in stock (although I still call and have them physically check it).
Think shipping is high? Try a Canadian postal code with your order. I'll give you one to try. E7M 2T5. Still, for brakes and pads all around on my Civic, even with shipping it was less than 1/2 (almost 1/3rd) of my FLAPS. And I got better quality stuff.
I order parts for my Miata or another foriegn car and get magnets for a big american tank of a car.
Trying to tell me something?
I just ordered a fuel tank w/ fuel pump installed for my truck. Cost 66% of what the local parts stores wanted, and traveled the 1200 miles from their warehouse to my front door in 2 and a half days. Didn't find any magnets though...
