I wish there were more RWD small cars to drop modern drive trains into. If you have the skills to drop this fiberglass replica over the chassis of another car, I suppose you could drop the shell of some FWD cars over the same chassis. I started rallying back in 70s, when everything was still RWD and would love something akin to a MkI or MkII Escort.

I think it's more like you get to buy one, then drop it on top of whatever you want. In my case, i'm thinking a long rod turbo FE3 huffing ALLOFIT sitting in a Miata "skateboard." Drop on Escort body. Proceed directly to winning, do not pass go, DO collect all the internets, go directly to winning.

I thought about the Miata chassis swap right away, but a quick Google check says the Escort has a 98" wheelbase while the Miata is only 89.2. That is a big stretch and you need to determine where the stretch takes place?

Less of an issue if you are not using the Miata chassis structure.

Track works out better at 54 for the escort and 56 for the Miata.
