I installed my 7k lb rotary lift a couple of weeks ago. I am now looking for a telescoping drain pan. does anyone have recommendations. I have been reading about the ones from harbor freight, but i don't want to wish i spent a few more dollars and have something that will last.

Thanks

I've been using this HF unit for a couple years with no complaints, other than those that you would expect using compressed air to empty the tank-- it can get sloppy at the end of the tank.

Two comments:

Get one with a drain valve. Having to tip that sucker to empty it can be a bitch - BTDT. One with a cap for the intake tube while transporting would be nice as well.

Make sure you have a place to dump used oil. While I have a lift, I no longer use my under-lift tank since I no longer have an easy place to dispose of used oil (my ex-g/f's twp recycling center). Now I take 5 qt jugs to Advance. I'm not sure they'd like me emptying an 8 gallon tank there even if it is the same amount of oil, just all in one shot.

I was looking at the 59.00 unit. That you linked is probably the way to go.

Just a regular drain pan. Now I don't lift the car up as high. Some day I'll get industrious and build a rig so I drain oil directly into a 5 qt jug.

I have this one: http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/p-15893-lisle-11102.aspx ...now collecting dust in my shed.

Just so you know, if you try to get the last of the oil out of the tank, you'll have flashbacks to your last cruise ship norovirus outbreak, whether you actually experienced one or not.

In reply to Karacticus: If you saw the supply of used oil i have now, you would understand that that will not be a problem.
