Figures my first post here would be about oil...
I have a '06 Audi A3 2.0 that I recently had towed home due to the crank position sensor crapping out. In order to get to said sensor, I had to remove the oil filter housing, so I planned to do an oil change too.
Drained the oil and removed the housing/filter last night and attempted to get to the sensor but it got dark and cold, so threw the housing back on and called it a night.
Changed the sensor today and uneventually finished oil change. Turned the car on and let it idle during cleanup. Backed out of the driveway 10 minutes later and turned to go around the block and the oil pressure light comes on. Immediately pull over and shut the car off, get out and look for oil leaking profusely, see nothing. Check oil level and it's fine, could use a little bit more so put that in and start the car again. No light while at idle. A few seconds of throttle application to head home and light comes on again. Checked everything over and it looks fine, no codes thrown, engine is running fine and not making any unusual noise. The light actually went off just after turning into the driveway.
It doesn't strike me as a problem with the pump. I suppose it could be a pickup tube issue but it just seems odd to me that this would happen immediately after changing the crank position sensor and oil. There were no indications of oil issues prior to this (aside from excessive consumption but that's low on my suspect list at the moment).
Any other ideas? Thanks!
