2013 Fusion 2.0 AWD or 2012 Infiniti G37x.

A little background. My commute is around 45-55 minutes each way. I currently drive a 2005 Subaru Outback XT, 5spd. I've had it for 8 years now and though I don't hit stop and go traffic often I am now done with stick shift in a daily driver. I want/need the AWD where I live due to some big hills on my way home(I have seen people in some storms unable to make it up with FWD/RWD - maybe they just had crappy tires) and also for my odd driveway(in which my wife's RAV4 has gotten stuck before). It's not just the winter, we have a big dirt drive and with the spring thaw it's mud season. Around here I can find either one for right around $20k give or take a grand with similar mileage(around 40k) on either one. I'll be trading my Subaru and making up the difference in cash+dealing, so no stretching the budget and just financing a bit more - NO FINANCING.

This will be my car for the next 8 years give or take. In truth, I could be happy with either one as a daily. From what I've read, the G-series cars have a long track record of reliability and low repairs that the then-new-for-2013 Fusion just can't match which worries me a bit for the long-term. I've driven both cars now and am pretty strongly leaning towards the Infiniti. Does anybody have experience with these two cars? Anything else I'm not considering?

Any tips on buying from a dealer for cash? How does that change the dealing process?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

The Fusion is a bore to drive but perfectly competent appliances. Both of my grandparents drive them. They seem reliable.

The G will be much more enjoyable, nicer interior, better handling, better engine, better transmission, better looks, and Nissan build quality for those is pretty good outside of minor stuff like terrible underbody clips, lol.

You might find that with depreciation you can get the Lincoln MKZ version of the Fusion as cheap.
Sure, the MKZ is a love it or hate it design but I like it.
