I have approx $2k to spend on a new to me DD. So....Find me a new ride within 400 miles of Grand Rapids, Mi or be able to meet me somewhere in the range with the vehicle.

REQUIREMENTS - Non-negotiable:

Seats 5 legally. The kids are small and it would be rare they are all in it.

27mpg+ - I drive 500+ miles a week

Inexpensive to repair

Wish list?

Manual Transmission

Rwd / Awd

Things I don't care about?

A/C - color - brand - etc

Keep the rust to a minimum puh-leaze!

Damn, i have the perfect car for you, and WELL within your price range, however, distance is a factor, and it doesn't currently start, so driving it halfway isn't an option.

Not sure about manual or the exact price but that thing has been up there for a while now. Right about 350miles away from you

Alfa Milano. It is way cheaper to repair than you would ever imagine.

I think I got over 25mpg on the highway.

If it wasn't for the MPG's, I would have said Caravan for the family room. If it wasn't for attempting to seat 5 and MPG's, Crown Vic.

Great for the unique drivetrains/powerplants, bad for everything else... But all the cars down south are plainer then vanilla....

You go down to D&R Auto Sales on 76th and Division and tell Darrin that I sent you. I bet he has something you like, at a price you want to pay.

Alfa Milano is decent, windshields are kinda expensive (~$350+) and at least when I had mine clutch throwout bearings were nla and mine broke at like 120k miles. Also, if the heater doesn't work when you get it it's never going to, because the parts to repair it don't exist. They also have terrible headlights and no ground clearance. But, they are really easy to work on and fun to drive, and are pretty reliable. Mine got about 24 mpg.

Saturn SL2. Sorry about the FWD, but the gas mileage is awesome and the plastic body panels are perfect for Michigan. Parts are next to free and 5-speed cars aren't too hard to find.

I'm not saying "No" to fwd. It's just not my first choice. I did call on a 2000 Focus with a 5spd. But it has a undocumented engine swap..ugh

Might call on this today...200K sounds like a lot of miles, but if I can talk him down a bit

Depending on your negotiating abilities http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/3505317233.html

As far as repair costs, oil pumps are expensive, other than that, they are cheaper than I'd have expected except a cam or crank.

Depending on how old your kids are, your 5 seating requirements could make some of those cars not viable. If you have kids in booster seats you need 5 shoulder belts, that's why I came up with the wagon.

nothing wrong, just sick of the damn thing.

29x11x3 Ebay Intercooler 3" inlets and outlets

Dual Fire Wasted Spark Coils (Fender mounted)

Full 3" Turbo Back Exh with Vortex muffler and glasspack(all welded)

AEM Wideband (wired to EMS for data logging and closed loop)

Autometer Fuel Pressure guage

Walbro 255lph inline pump

new in tank lift pump

-6AN SS Braded fuel hose from pump to rail

New Monroe Airmax rear shocks

Class 2 receiver hitch

All parts are less than 14 months old, most parts are within the last 8 months or so. Car has been DD for the last 14 months with no issues driving about 50 miles/day. Trans shifts smooth with no slipping, car runs real strong but really needs to be dyno tuned. Heat works, A/C worked great until waste gate actuator wore a hole through the A/C line, was converted to 134.

Car has no rust whatsoever, FL car with clean carfax. Leaks oil since I replaced exh manifold gaskets so I think the turbo drain hose cracked (Napa fuel hose), however I bought a silicon hose and heat sheath for it.

I have a book full of receipts.

$2000 Rincon GA (Can't figure out how to copy/paste pics from my phone)
