How do you properly dispose of old 2 stroke gas? I would imagine my local parts store would not appreciate the gas being dumped in the oil recycle tank.

Give it to someone with an RX7 to slowly dump into their fuel tank?

How old is it? How much oil is mixed in? I'd be tempted to use it up in my car - just pour in a little bit each time you fill up the car, and it won't hurt anything.

Local landscaper or a neighbor with a 2-stroke gas trimmer?

My uncle used to own a lawnmower shop. He said that they would put 2 stroke mix in everything. Maybe not 100%, but he'd mix a bit in. He said that the extra oil wouldn't hurt anything, but if you put too much in, it might be hard to start.

I'd look for your lowest compression engine (lawnmower?) and add it to a tank of straight gas that was 3/4 full.

In reply to stuart in mn:

The gas was mixed @ 2.6oz.of oil to 1 gal. of gas. I'd say its nine months old. I'd guess there is about 3 cups I need to get rid of.

If there's only three cups of it, I'd just pour it in the car's gas tank and not worry about it.

If you don't want to use it in something (diluting it in your car's gas tank or lawnmower) you need to talk to your local solid waste authority.

In St. John's County, FL, you can dispose of residential hazardous waste here:

Tillman Ridge Transfer Station is located at: 3005 Allen Nease Road Elkton, FL 32033

or

Stratton Rd Transfer Station is located at: 250 N Stratton Road St. Augustine, FL. 32095

http://www.co.st-johns.fl.us/BCC/Solid_Waste/index.aspx

More than likely they will accept residential hazardous waste for free in order to discourage people from just dumping it down the sewer.

I'd just burn it in something else; it's only 3 cups, and it's only 9 months old. If you don't want to burn it in your car, this is a great excuse to buy a gas powered RC car or plane!

I would dump that amount of old gas in my '85 C-30 Dooley's tank in a heartbeat. Three cups would last through a start and maybe even get me out of my driveway.

This. I went through plenty of old premix this way. I've even run it through the Trooper. It won't hurt FI or O2 sensors or etc.

Now, REAL old gas (like years old with that varnishy smell) I would see about disposing of through your local dump etc, if they take paint they'll probably take the gas too.
