Interesting video - thanks for posting it. Based on the commentary and result I believe this was the race at Seattle International in 1970. About half way through there is a brief shot of a driver who was also popular on TV - Dick Smothers - who was running F5000 that year.

This was a mix of Lime Rock and Mid Ohio. The finish and all of the on-board was Mid Ohio but a lot of the early parts including the pace lap was Lime Rock. I wish in hind sight that I had gone to the Lime Rock event. My parents both worked it, but I stayed home to run on some TSD rally that was not so memorable.

I pretty certain that I saw that group race at Road America in 1970--'69 we were racing home afterward to watch Armstrong step on the moon but I think my Dad took me to every F5000 race at Elkhart Lake.  I have no memory of those cars, though...  It was startling to hear somebody using a Ford engine, though.

Some interesting commentary there. $1,000 cost per race, $12,000 a year for a crew chief. My how times have changed!

In 1995 my cost per race in my FP Turner running SCCA Nationals was around $2,000
