Damn, yeah just getting warmed up and still below the most recent Indycar fastest laps.
Still just a hair behind the outright lap records but probably within reach if able to push
Lap Record (unofficial): 2012 Ferrari Racing Days, Marc Gene, Ferrari F2003, 1:05.786, 7 March 2012
All-time lap Record (official): 2000 CART season, Helio Castroneves, KI 1:07.722, 16 March 2000
As I watch this, and they note how light this F1 era is, I can only think that F1 should be allowed to do battery development. Like in serious battery development.
We all know it's the hybrid system that is making the F1 cars heavy... wait, this is for a different thread. I'll move over there.
Pretty awesome for Pato to get this ride- and it will be really interesting to see him in the contemporary car at the end of the season- he's already planned to run the car in the Bahrain post season test. And if he does well- it kind of points to my complaint about the super license point system. Indycar should get more credit for points- this would be the easy button for F1 to quickly get a driver American fans are familiar with..., .wait- off topic again. Sorry about that.
Sounds awesome, and seeing him brake that hard into some of those corners points out how quick that era was.
