1978... Me on the left... and that is a basketball pole that the (unseen) broken come-along is mounted too.... my 1968 Volvo 1800S in the background. My friend looks happier because I did most of the work
So.... post up... the oldest known photo of you doing wrenching....
It's not wrenching, but my parents have an old photo of me washing one of their Cutlasses--figure I was 4-ish at the time.
I wish I had a picture of me rebuilding my 350 smallblock on my dads woodwork bench. I had to roll it around to put it together. Never thought to keep it clean or cover it, and one day I came in to find that Day had let loose with a skil saw beside it and it was full of sawdust. No parts washer though, or brains so I just swept the shavings out and continued.
It did run for a while though but not very well.
I was 16 and I did not get adult help.
There are none of me. I wrench alone. Greasy hands preclude pictures. I am an automotive ninja.
No photo, but I have an oil painting of a buggy build we did during the renaissance period.

I've got a pic in my desk of me around age 18 covered in grease after swapping out all the airbags on my old Lincoln Mark VII. I was a scrawny long haired hippy back then, so that pic may just stay put...

I have a picture of me in a diaper standing in the drivers seat of my dads Austin Healey... Nothing wrenching though.
Hmm, no tools in my hand but I'm definitly fixing the trailer here circa 1970
I'll have to find it but my mom has a photo of me under my uncle's Firebird with a wrench in hand, splattered in grease, while still in diapers. I was less than 2.
This was me, circa 2002, pulling the heads off the 403 that once resided in my Trans Am. The previous owner decided that he was going to try and bolt a set of Pontiac 400 headers to the Olds 403, and in removing the stock manifolds, he broke nearly every exhaust stud. I had to pull the heads to take them to a machine shop to repair them. That was the first in a long list of PITA repairs I've done to that car. It's still broken in my driveway. A certain Turbo Dodge cut it in line and took over my garage.

I repaired a leak on the ark. No pics though.
A TR-7 owner in his natural habitat, circa 1984.
Sssshhhhhhh...he's trying to find the elusive source of the chronic overheating....
I'm about 7 in this picture. I have help here but I have been told I was responsible for the right front falling off later in the season.
Here we are headed to the track.

Same here for the most part. There is one pic of me with my favorite tools out there:

I've got one circa 1965...
2nd white shirt from the left. It was even in a magazine, circa 2001. Even my F250 is in the picture, it was the transport for the at the track motor swap.
Like most, I am wrenching alone and my parents weren't the richest folks on the block or picture takers.
My mother put together a scrapbook for each one of us kids.
For simplicity, I just took a cell phone picture of the page.
It is my 4th birthday so that means summer of 1970.
It is not exactly wrenching but proper vehicle care is important....and, its next to godliness.
