I love me some High Plains but if memory serves me, Hallet to High Plains to Cresson is going to be a long couple of days. I've driven four of the six tracks and could get in NOLA pretty easily.
Coincidence that I ordered a seat bracket for the OLOA car today? Mabye...........

8am. The fast cars are leaving the venue by 1:00
Fast cars will be something like 8:30 and 12:30. The best way to see the day is to get there super early, 7:00ish, walk the track with us (we need help) watch all the morning cars, eat lunch (yay track food!) and then watch the fast cars run again before leaving by 2:00. In my opinion anyway.

May 4th, South Bend, IN at 8am
some extra detail I squeezed out of Brocker on Faceballs, is the Autocross will be at NCM (I'd guess during lunch) and the drags are at Gateway Park
looking at a bit of youtube video... I'm going to have to work hard to not get confused between Gateway and MIS
Another previous lap dog suggested that MIS may be running the oval?
That's a scary thought, I've run the roval before and even that is a 4th gear WOT around the banking, I imagine running just the oval we'll be deep into 5th gear drag limited through turns. I'm not sure my car can successfully run 3 (2 mile long) laps essentially at WOT the entire time.
well, the first time I looked around for video all I found was Indy race coverage, and SCCA running autoX in the parking lot. Since then I've found some SCCA Majors racing that includes the infield. Although, the approach into it is visually very similar to Gateway.

In reply to John Welsh :
Now add 2224 miles for the to/from for me and another 300 to that for my co-driver. Gonna be a busy week.

Cool, I'll put in for that day off. I know the short loop of the track, but never done the full circuit.

The Gateway to Hallet trip one will probably be a later night than first glance, since we'll be doing the drags there. Unfortunately I didn't note down what time we left Memphis last year. Apparently it was around the scheduled 4pm "end of competition" time. Although, we might pick up an hour?
Wait, what time zone is High Plains in vs. Cresson?
so, that leg is 11.5 hours and we lose an hour. that's going to be a taxing one... three up is looking more and more like a good idea... and quest is looking more like genius
We never went more than 5mph over the speed limit last year during transit. I'd be really tempted to break that rule for High Plains to Cresson.
We were one of the first cars up for the bracket drags and lost to the miata that went on to win, that gave us a mighty head start on the transit. We had talked about practicing some drag racing this spring to try to pick up "easy" points as a lot of pointy end folks don't seem to take the drags seriously.
But now in leu of the fact that the drags are before back to back 9 and 12 hour transits we might opt to knock ourselves out in round 1 and get on the road earlier
