I've got the info sheet, but I can't imagine that would any more fun than the autocrosses I go to. I ended up withdrawing from the one coming up on Sunday since I won't be able to pile up enough break-in miles before then. There's another one coming up Sept 19th in Daytona that I'll definitely go to.

Exciting! Just saw a black one at a track day yesterday, pretty aggressive looking. I hate black cars so meh, I think the other color options will look sweet. I believe it was just there for fun, didn't see it turning laps in anger. Same for the GT350...

When people ask me how it is, the first word that comes to mind is "effortless". It seems to do everything without effort; acceleration, cornering, braking - especially cornering. I could be going around a corner 10 or 15 mph faster than was comfortable in the Fiesta and hardly even feel the cornering forces. The giant bolsters on the Recaros help there, I'm sure, but the car is just so sure-footed that corners just disappear. It's no wonder C&D called it the "Velcro Focus". Just astonishingly fast.

What size is the wheel and tire package on the car?

Is it "too fast" to be interesting driving around normal cars? I run into this with the V Wagon. If 70% is the threshold of interesting I could do that constantly in the Mazda2 and have a hoot, but the V is more like 30% at the same speeds. If I have open road around me I can still be entertained at legal speeds, but not with any other cars in sight.

Think of the dumbest guy you know. Now give him the keys. Now set the power level so that 95% of the units will not come back under warranty campaign no matter what said guys does to the car, short of driving it off a cliff (and even then it will sometimes still land on it's wheels.)

And even at that, people will want to buy some doohickey so they feel like their RS is a teensy bit better than the other 3 in the parking lot at work, no matter how damn good it is.

Almost 8 years later, and mine's still stock - and has been perfectly reliable all this time.

And for almost eight years I have watched Jerry and his RS whip through the cones. :)
