So, after doing the Hot Rod Power Tour last year I realized that it is extremely hard to communicate with my co-driver with my Starlet's windows rolled down and an open header.
I know someone out there in GRM land has a cheap solution for on board communications between driver and co-driver. I don't need something super fancy like you'd see in professional rally and I don't need to communicate with a pit crew. Just hold a normal conversation. So, head phones and a mic with some sort of intercom system. Yes, I should know how to do this as I work in TV but sound isn't my gig.
Suggestions oh wise ones?
Thanks
John
When I did a track day at Hallet with an instructor, he had these little ear and stick thingies. You just jammed it up in your helmet between the padding and your ear and the stick thing was a microphone. Worked great.
Hallet is about 20 minutes from me. Are you in Oklahoma?

I use this with HPDE students: http://www.nady.com/products/motorcycle-communicators/pmc-2x-driver-to-passenger-intercom/
Out of the box they are hit or miss, and you'll need some kind of over the head thing. I've made mine pretty bulletproof with some extra soldering. I had bad luck with Chatterbox, but I have friends that swear by them.
No, I'm near Fayetteville.

What kind of over the head thing did you use? I don't plan to be wearing a helmet for seven days. But that does look promising.
