I can't load my pics, but Greenwood(and Calloway) made the turd of a 'Vette look awesome!
That black RX-7 is street driven/legal??? Shut up.
Everything about that car is perfect. The flared give it beautiful proportions, the stance is amazing and the wheels are spectacular.
<--excuses himself...
That reminds me of that Darth Vader lookin' FC that came to the '07(?) Challenge. massive DIY flares and it looked tough (nowhere near as clean as this one, though). Anyone got pix?
So i CAN buy this kit, yes? If someone tells me that i can, then i know for certain what my next car will be.
I am dead serious, by the way.... if the kit can be found, i will be buying an FB next.
The girlfriend and i were looking for an older japanese project, and this just upset a 280zx in the most spectacular way possible.

Very close to that kit and a GRM advertiser. Not cheap though.

A little more tame widebody kit for the first gen.
If you are seriously interested I have a cheap running 79 first gen that would be a perfect donor for a wide body due to a missing front fender and a some rust in the rear quarters. I would sell it cheap depending on what you wanted with it.

That's actually way cheaper than the Mariah... i had already found that one in my endeavors, and didn't really like it. I've always had "sleeper-ish" cars, i want to do something wild this time.
I am seriously interested, but i won't be at the buying stage to pick up an FB until spring, likely.
How cheap is cheap, though? I may be able to pick it up earlier and just put it in storage until i'm ready to tear into it.

Here is a long build thread on someone with that Black Dragon widebody kit. Turbo FB with a ford rear end etc etc.
Cheap depends on it what you want with it. Right now it is on Ground control coilovers with the stock 4X110 bolt patten on the front and a GSL-SE (4X114.3) LSD rear end. I could either throw the stock rear back in it which was making noise or include the GSL-SE front spindles which would allow conversion to more readily available bolt patten.
I would sell the car with the old rear end in it for $500. With the full GSL-SE suspension I would ask $800.
I would honsetly rather keep the GSL-SE suspension for my V8 RX-7 plans. The other option would be when I pick up the V8 RX-7 I get to strip down another car and would be grabbing the suspension off of that.
The car runs well but smoke on startup and at high RPM (just ask Tom and Joe) which indicates the oil control seals are going. It will run for a long time like this as long as you keep oil in it. Some people add the Lucas oil treatment with good results. It has a header and exhaust on it with a Magnaflow muffler. MSD ignition/ emessions removed etc. The interior is ok with a cracked dash. The body looks decent but has rust. None seems to be structural. The widebody would take car of most of it.
I can part it out pretty easily but feel bad since she runs well and I hate to kill a decent running car.

Photos of it before I pulled the hood, passenger fender and front valence for my other 79.
Driveable back to Indy? Want to put that sucker on layaway for me? Holidays are going to kill my current cash supply, and the girlfriend wont want another car for xmas this year, got her one last year.
Oh, and by the way....

It's not their regular widebody kit, it's the Mariah GTU kit. FOUND THE UNICORN!!!! It would be about $4000 configured as shown in the pictures. Expensive, but so worth it.
I drove it from Kansas City to Ormond last year. With the current rear end under it I don't see why not.
So far the car is not going anywhere. I still need to pick up the other 79 from the body shop in Atlanta so this wont be going anywhere until then at the soonest. It probably wont go anywhere until the V8 one arrives either.
Yeah I saw that super expensive Mariah GTU one but man that aint cheap. I would get the Black Dragon one and save the remainder for a motor/suspension/interior.

Alright, cool. PLEASE send me an email when you're ready to get it cleared out. I got the thumbs up from the girlfriend on the car, and this would fulfil our needs perfectly. (Need one that we could drive as backup during the summer while the Escort is down for a KLZE swap.)
We'll weigh our options on the body.... not sure which we'll do yet. Besides the body/wheels/tires this is probably going to be fairly straight ahead and basic. Thinking a Turbo II swap and fairly normal suspension, stripped and cleaned up interior, some nice seats, and a simple cage. I don't want to go so wild that she won't want to drive it.
Ha I had no idea my ratty first gen was such a collectors item.
I was actually thinking of driving it up to ATL and leave it with the body shop dude for a while when I pick up the "new" 79 RX-7 from him which should be happening this December or January. He actually has a solid but ratty non running 79 that he was going to scrap. I bet he would take around $200 for it.
I am a mustang guy, but have never been all that attracted to fox bodies aesthetically...
until now
DTM mustang win
From what I can find there were at least 3 of them in the early 90's. I cant find too much information, one reference said 540-560hp though.
