The worst parts of that car are the autotragic trans and crossfire injection.

This is what that gen Camaro _should_ have looked like. I wonder how esily this could be recreated...sans the body stretch between the door and the rear wheel, which was probably the most expensive part of this modification.
i have begun to question your tastes in cars..
Not much worse than base 308 styling. It's not horrible..
X1/9 side scoops though? I wonder if those were added later.
The 3rd-gen F-body and Fiero were great-looking cars right off the showroom floor. Why rebody them? If I'm building a kit, I want to either take an ugly car and make it pretty, or build a replica that's faithful to the original (Factory Five Cobra, Caterham 7, or Beetle-to-356 conversion).
Well you think that is bad, how about this:

Apart from the batman-esque aesthetic values, the workmanship on the side pipes alone is worth noting

agreed.
In reply to Fueled by Caffeine and mr2peak: I was actually searching for information on a project Camaro that Car Craft did in the early eighties. It was one of the first ones out and for some reason it popped in my head when this thread started. That lovely sculpture popped up in the image search. I agree, there's some pretty good craftsmanship in that car. I'm most drawn to the Aku like fangs in the front.
That is one of the best looking 80s camaro i've ever seen. I hope noone dumping on it in this thread is over posting x1/9 pics in the Bertone thread. And who can argue with the rear view on an 80s ferrari?
Obviously, knowing what we know about all the cars involved (the camaro and the cars this kit rips off) gives us an awkward feeling about this thing, but you could do a LOT worse. Like, owning a REGULAR 80s camaro.

hey, i like my 86 Camaro... it's not the most comfortable thing, but driving it is sort of a primal experience... also, people think it's cool as hell for some reason.

That might be one of the few backyard butcher copies which could almost be considered better looking than the original.
I sometimes wonder if the Lotus brass weren't heavily into psychedelic chemicals at the time. I mean, SOMEONE had to look at the sketch and give it a thumbs up. They do make good J-H upgrade donors: 2.2 engine, Toyota gearbox, etc...
