What's the opinion on racing the first generation of the front-wheel drive Celica's? I real cheap one appeared near my and I am interested in joining the challenge.

Depends on your intent.  If you want to come down and dominate, probably not a good start (unless you have a line on a cheap complete All-trac turbo drivetrain).  If you’re looking for something that you can have fun with, make into a decent autocrosser, and don’t care about being competitive in a specific class after the challenge, why not?  Speed parts for them may be hard to come by at this point, but I bet there’s a lot out there that can be adapted.

Is it a GTS?  That would give you a fairly light, 3sge powered starting point.
