I've got a '95 Miata that I'd like to occasionally give my 5 and 6 year old kids a ride in. What options do I have for disabling the passenger air bag? I know I can unplug it behind the glovebox, and I've seen $200 keyed off switch kits. Does anyone have a Grassroots or junkyard solution that is between those two?

Take it out? Then blow it up just to make sure (and because it is so much fun).

Miata.net has a write up in their garage section about this, I think. It requires a cheap resistor to fool the light, but not much more.
