Plus, if you get a MV- she will fill it with crap. That's how women roll. I forced the wife to work with her MCS when my kid was born, as a result, she does not attempt to tote everything under the sun wherever we go.

We fit an absolutely astonishing amount of crap in the Fit on vacations. Astonishing, I tell ya.

I get 25 to 28 with stop and go back road driving. I've seen as high as 30 highway at 70 mph. If you can keep your foot out of the accelerator it returns decent milage. If you can't man it suffers in a hurry.

Upgrade path wise make sure to upgrade the HPFP especially on the gen 2 because they can lean out in a hurry at the top of the rev range. The rear motor mount is also notoriously weak.

It's like a womens purse. The amount of detrius is directly proportional to the size of the vehicle. I swear to christ she'd take the couch with us everywhere if I had an SUV worth a E36 M3.

Voted down. As the Canexican and others have said, she gets what she wants (I've been hamming it up all bummed 'but I understand, honey.') Plenty of ammo for the Elise, Z06, NSX, whatever, when the time comes.

I know the OP got shotdown, but I felt I needed to add that my wife DDs a 08 Mazda3 manual hatch. I couldn't talk her into the Speed....sigh. But the 3 has been a great car for us. We have a 3 year old, with the same Recaro car seat in the earlier pics, and we've done week long trips to FL in this thing (that's about 10 hours in the car). The 3 holds an amazing amount of stuff and the regular 3 is pretty comfy on long trips. Plus it still get 32-33 MPG easy at 80-85 MPH with the a/c on.

Even if our family expands we are planning to keep the 3 for awhile and see how it works out. I might have to add a roof rack and a cargo coffin or a trailer hitch and a rack, but its worth keeping.
