Anyone know if the original Odyssey (big accord version) could be had with a manual shift? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it could be in Japan, not sure about USDM, though.

No, it could not anywhere to the best of my knowledge... and at one point I researched quite a bit.
My findings on vans with stick shifts:
Mazda MPV
Early Chrysler products
Ford Aerostar
Toyota Previa and their deathstar thing

I still have a yard on for a 4wd manual element. Of course, it's not technically a van.

I found a sapling growing through the frame of an Odyssey at a junkyard once. I asked the owner how much for the go-cart frame. He wanted $500!!!! I told him the tree could have it.

I had one of these that scared the absolute piss out of me as a kid. Way too fast and too loud for my young sensibilities.

I sold it non-running and in less-than stellar condition (hint: it spent a lot of time on its side, and I ran it through a split rail fence once) for $1200, to a guy from about 500 miles away. I couldn't believe it.

Now I want another one.

Yeah, that's why I added the big accord version in there. Found the H22 one...very cool.

I actually REALLY like those odysseys! If i didnt already own a turbo/5spd caravan id be looking for one.

I also like the current gen. But geegolly they're a BIT out of my price range. And if i had the money for a loaded odyssey i cant say i wouldnt spend a few grand more and go for a R320 CDI diesel benz rwd MINIVAN (YOU HEARD ME! coolest minivan of the last few years... r-class benz)

Wow! I'm glad I don't have to read that jibberish regularly! I've got nothing against hondas or honda owners in general but...

honda kid said: i wana c that engine bay pix of that whit oddessy itz a single turboed rit?? straight jdm

I really like the small oddessys though. I think it would be a great family hauler. Off to autotrader to see what they're going for...

First thing I thought. We're so highbrow 'round these parts.

They are great vans. We love the size. Gets decent mileage, around 25 cruising at 70 or around town. Good power, reliable and we prefer 4 real doors over the slider style. There is a site dedicated to them, can't find the bookmark right now. Worth checking out as a family hauler though.

So true, if we ever get to the point of being able to afford one.
