i'd like to get eyes on this car for body and frame condition, and possibly get someone to buy and sit on it for me for a few months until i can get it. can't bring it back from challenge because towing racecar. willing to discuss a broker/storage fee for someone if it's a good car.

It is easier and cheaper to get a running car transported so here's some fuel for your fire...
Trailer down your Challenge car. After Challenge, drop off that presumed running car at shipping Depot.
Bring non running Chevelle home with you on the trailer.
Let a semi deliver your Challenge car back to you.
I got my Q45 Challenger delivered in from Denver for just under 50 cents per mile traveled. If I would have gone and picked it up myself, to be cheaper, I would have had to managed to move a pickup with trailer for less than 25 cents per mile each way. Factor in lodging, meals and time away from work/earning and I could not do it cheaper myself.
Said another way... It will likely cost $500 to get a car trucked the 1,000 miles back to your house. To do that yourself, cheaper, you'd have to spend less than $250 each way. At $2.50 per gallon and getting 15 mpg, you'll drop $167 just in fuel each way or $333 round trip. $100 for one night hotel and your at $433. You've saved $67 but we're away from work for two days.
well,
the deal here is my brother in law is down that way. he doesn't have time as he has a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a brand new baby. but what he does have is a jeep up here at my inlaws that he needs transported to florida... he is willing to pay me for gas to get his jeep to him, leaving me with an empty trailer heading north at some point. also i'm not sure which part of orlando this is in, but he is 25 miles west of town and lives in an association where chevelle would not be welcome. i have customers 10 miles northeast of town who, if they are down there by then, would let me stay in their guest room and have a big enough driveway for a truck/trailer.
so i've got a place to stay, have reason to head down loaded, have someone else to pay for my gas for taking him his jeep, i just need eyes on the car to see if it's worth it, and someone willing to make the deal for me if it is.
there may be a 72 vista cruiser on my radar as well. REALLY want an A body wagon one of these days, but needs to be a solid car to start with, sick of rust. a vista cruiser is probably at the top of the list, followed by chevelle, then whatever buick and pontiac made.
I would do it but am out of the country for a while.
