Last week, I installed a braided stainless steel clutch line in my buddy's LS swapped FD. Braided stainless likes to act like a saw: abrading everything it comes in contact with.

What's a good way (other than using non-braided lines) to keep it from chewing up everything it touches?

Split some fuel hose, slide it over the braided steel and secure it with cable ties.

Check your routing...did the original lines route the same way. Brake lines should never rub on things.

clutch line is a little different. You might need more secure mounts to keep it from eating through everything?

Wire loom? Zip tied.

High shrink ratio dual wall heat shrink tubing.

But Woody's answer is the easiest and probably cheapest.

Whatever you cover the line in to avoid abrading other things, the cover will ultimately wear through.

I would recommend whatever is cheapest, and most easily replaced. I've used silicone vacuum hose secured with tie-wraps for this with pretty good results.

While silicone isn't really "cheap", I had about 30' of the stuff laying around.

In the hydraulic hose world - we use steel or plastic wire wrap. Orange fire sleeve is also used.
