I want this in the midwest region
Love the idea. Don't love the price tags involved....

With our V1 through V4 classes a vintage race car can be built on various budgets.
Obviously the V1 cars are the most extreme, V2 gets into some well built machines but won't break the bank, and we've some had fairly fast but simple mid 60's Mustangs and Fox bodies with 302's in V3, 4 cylinder Datsuns and 6 cylinder AMC's in V4.
The safety gear cost the same as with any class of racing, suspension, brakes and horsepower is all up to the builder and his budget. Clapped out shells are all over the web, or find a project someone lost interest in.
Our main focus is getting more vintage cars out on the track, but allow the builder to build the car he wants and can afford.
The thing is, you can build whatever you want, just 30 years or older. 2nd and 3rd Gen F's, or maybe a 944 with an LS swap, it can run Vintage and is a fairly easy build. We have a Triumph Spitfire installing a Mazda rotary engine coming, the build possibilties are endless and make for some very unique race cars.

Second vote here, and I'll throw a third in for my dad, since we'd be running his '60 Catalina.
I like it. I'd definitely watch this class at VIR or Summit Point.
That's awesome. I have to get a look at the rule book - it looks like Pro Touring cars aren't just useless exercises in tarting up old favorites anymore. That is just swell.
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
Great article hope this spreads I think it will draw a whole lot more people to the races.
BBC
I dig it.
I like older cars, but love them best built up with modern technology.
