i got sick of the 17" bullitt wheels so i painted up some stock 16x8 steelies really nice and found some trim rings on a chevy truck at the pull a part for 11 bux and snagged the center caps off my parts car.
FYI i still have a love/hate relationship with this car. i'm currently in a conundrum - i'd love to off it and buy a cleaner one but i know it has rust holes in the frame therefore my conscience won't let me sell it without divulging that, which would scare anyone out of giving me any more than $500 for it. so i think i need to drive it into the ground.
Find a non-rusty frame and swap bodies. There's a lot of them out here that have trashed bodies that are clean underneath.
Loving the steelies BTW.

That Vic is badass looking. It makes me think MIB.
so I have to ask.. how many people refuse to pass you on the highway?
Just rust out the whole car a la Mike Burroughs.
Go get a mig? Unless the rust is all over the frame get it fixed. A good welding shop should be able to replace/repair a section of frame for not much scratch. BTW Looks great!!!
sucks about yer frame.
not to nitpick, but I was under the impression the stock steelies were 16x7.
What was wrong with the parts car that made it less usable than the rusty driver?
Also where did it rust? I remember the passenger frame rail near the back side of the front tire was an issue on the older ones. The condensation from running the ac piled up around there.
i could fix the rust if i felt like it, it's in an area with a ton of structure and i do not feel unsafe driving it. it's up front on both sides next to the cats. the worst part about repairing would be the need to remove the cats to get in there, which means the studs snap off in the manifolds, the manifolds need to come off, and those studs snap off in the heads. giant snowball rolling downhill effect.
the parts car body is totally shot, the quarters are gone 2 feet up. and tranny is shot and it has been neglected for what appears its whole life.
nobody passes me on the highway
