Heh, took me about 3 seconds to go "That's a Taurus wagon clamshell" and then I read the description.... damn I'm good.
Obviously an "afterthought" execution but is anyone here saying that a P71 Wagon is a bad idea in theory?
Make mine a manual and ill see you at the campground!

Yup, I agree

I'll go for that. A minivan will tow the same, carry more people and get better mileage. They'll also hold a 4x8 of plywood.
Telegraph vs iPhone.
Swiss Army knife vs. Machette is a more apt comparison IMO.
Something about a RWD V8 wagon with lots of possibilities for customization...
I'd rather drive/wrench/mod/own a P71 wagon than a minivan but I'm sure I'm in the minority.
(We've owned a minivan for the last 8 years btw)
I was thinking about how nice it would be if they made a Crown Vic wagon, but talking to my fiancee yesterday, we both decided it would be hideous. And it is.
Check the panel gap on that hatch.

Our Crown Vic had a towing capacity of 5000#. Our Honda Oddity had one of 3500#. Crown Vic could hold 6 people; the Oddity 7. Highway mileage on the Vic was 24-25, Oddity 23-26 (wind had a bigger impact). Dunno about the plywood, but the B-Body wagons could hold one.
Now that being said, for a family hauler I'd likely go for the minivan for other reasons.

Better Burnouts. You simply cannot put a value on this. Truly a priceless quality.
