Further reinforcing the perception that P71s are only good as police cars and taxis. Ah well - it leaves that many more for us. 
Anyone care to place bets on how many posts it'll be until this becomes a conventional vs. synthetic oil thread? 
My car's PD service log doesn't indicate what kind of oil they used, but it looks like they changed the oil anytime it went in for anything - occasionally as long as 5k miles, but usually by 3k, and sometimes as short as 1k. I just flipped 150k miles last night. My oil is still fairly clean even when a change is due, and I've never seen it use any, even during a weekend of whipping it around a go-kart track.

Duh. Free parts to fix his when it's broke. I bet he has multiple shelving units full of usable parts.
Be just like our local police, sourcing parts for decent cars from the pool of broken ones in the lot. Those are all the Impalas though...
There is a big taxi company down the road from me. They must have 100 P71s in the storage yard.
