Hi gang.

I posted in the Off-Topic forum that I might be moving to the Seattle area in the next few months. I was directed to check out the ICSCC for racing stuff, and, I must say, it looks pretty good. However, I am a bit confused on the classification structure.

It appears that the most popular classes are Pro3 (essentially spec E30) and various iterations of Spec Miata. I am not a fan of spec racing, so neither class appeals to me. However, I DID notice that there were a bunch of cars classed in "EIP." Most of them were E30s, and pictures of various events show that most E30s carry both the Pro3 and EIP decals. Also, there is a lone FC RX7 in EIP. So, my question is; what is EIP? From reading the ICSCC rules it APPEARS to be a local equivalent to SCCA E-Prod. However, I don't think that the E30s running in that class are prepped to E-Prod level.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am contemplating buying a new project car down here in SoCal and bringing it with me (plentiful and rust free) and am trying to get a handle on what kind of car to look for.

Thanks.

GS

Wait until you get up here. Cars are plentiful, rust free, and cheaper.

ICSCC generally follows SCCA classifications with some of their own variations to as inclusive as possible.

The point is to create classes that are full of cars and drivers.

With that said, EIP is E Improved Production.
