Better half has a 2014 Mazda 3 and drove through a public of latex paint on the highway a few months ago. She was going to have a car wash remove it but it is still there. How does one remove paint splatter from a car without messing up the factory finish? Goof off? Clay bar, acetone?

If it was latex (water based) paint acetone probably won't do anything & might damage factory finish. I'd start with dawn dishwashing liquid & fingernails or plastic razor blades, then clay bar.

Dawn did nothing but make the spatter brighter. But I haven't tried plastic blades.

Wax and grease remover worked on latex for me a couple times in the past. Not fast but won't affect auto paint.

HomeLowes sells a latex paint remover that is safe for clear coat. Old credit cards or expired gift cards also do wonders to remove it with no damage. BTDT

In fact if you search my posts I started this same thread last fall I think it was. Still have paint on the sidewalls
