I've got a story that goes the other direction.

My late first wife had MS and was using a cane, moving slower as she got fatigued.  Exiting a shopping mall (slowly) we were passed by a young (30s?) couple that sprinted all the way to a Cadillac in the first handicap spot.  We were in the second spot.  It was fun that I could almost see the steam coming out of the guys ears as we slowly walked behind the Caddy!
