Ok, so i need a set of head bolts for an 88-92 Mazda MX6 GT on Saturday morning. I'd really like to pick up a set locally, and buying from Advance has certain advantages since i need a big tube of black RTV and some assembly lube as well, and coupons are nice.
This has been real interesting.
Step 1: Pull up Rockauto, nothing listed
Step 2: Pull up Advance, they list Victor Reinz GS33425, but also do not list it as "exact fit," which begs the question "Why list it as a result in the first place?"
Step 3: Look on Napa, find Alstrom ATM 0581309. Napa informs me that the part cross references to a number of vehicles, including the 86-93 B2200, 89-94 MPV, 90-93 B2600, etc. But it's not available in store, in the warehouse, and they're going to charge me shipping to get it there, not even sure if they can have it in time.
Step 4: Plug Alstrom part number into Advance and Rockauto. Nothing.
Step 5: Search for head bolts for a B2200 on Rockauto, ponder why head bolts are available for B2200, but not MX6. (BGA BK6310)
Step 6: Search for head bolts on amazon, find Enginetech HB149. Compatibility mirrors what Napa says. None of the found parts or cars come up with results on Advance's site, and further more, Victor Reinz GS33425 seems to be for a 1.8 VW.
Sooo... can SOME wizard find a part number that works on Advance's site? These head bolts ARE re-usable , but i'd like to have a set on hand just in case they're damaged in any way, as well as just to have around for one of the 4 F2Ts i seem to have laying around.
Many internets will shower down upon you.
