I have only seen the car, I have not looked under the hood.
Have an opportunity to purchase a fairly clean looking nb with 200k for around 2 grand
Top looks good
Body looks good
Stock wheels and tires
I am going for a test drive later
Known issues:
AC is not working
Small oil leak

So, your concern is 200K?
The Mumpkin has more than that in it, and all we do is thrash on it.
Non issue.

Seems like a great price for an NB to me
Was I the only one thinking "boy, that's expensive"? .
I've had a bunch of NAs in that mileage range and as long as they're looked after I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.
Thats about what I paid for one with body damage and a slightly damaged top, and about the same mileage. I'm in Ohio, though, so the lack of rust was worth it.

200k miles doesn't really bother me. It should be on its 2nd or 3rd timing belt, but it's a non-interference engine, so more or less so what.
200k miles for $2000 in mid-October seems a little high to me. But if it's solid and clean, go for it.
Is AC a big issue and money$

In reply to steelynorm :
No way to tell from here, and it depends on your skillset and access to tools and workspace.
That being said, they made elevnty million NB Miatae, and people often like to take parts off of perfectly running examples. so sourcing a used whatever it needs shouldn't be difficult or expensive.
Stock clean ones here are in the $3500 range with low 100K miles. So seems a little pricy to me unless it's n super good shape.
In northeast Ohio, rust is my major concern. I'll buy high mileage /clean body all day since Swiss cheese body panels are the norm. In CA you might have a harder time finding good runners. .

I very rarely see NBs in the 2k range this was both now out in NC and also out in Socal. You can get clean NA's in the 2k range.
In reply to Jaynen :
So I drove the nb tonight not impressed.
I drove an NA a few years ago and I enjoyed it.
I thought it would feel morE powerful than my e30
It did not.
I drove it. It drove nice, not sure why, but the whole experience was kinda blah.
I enjoyed the sounds and feel of an e30 much more.
So for me, the answer was not miata
