This should probably just be entitled, should I buy the damn Integra already?
I've been cruising CL trying to find decent stuff, since SWMBO is in all likelihood going to be commuting a lot more soon, and we both hate her 93 Capri (don't ask).
Three contenders have emerged: A 2004 autotragic V6 in immaculate shape for 5 grand, A seemingly well-maintained and almost entirely stock 1995 4-door manual Integra LS, and an 86 manual Camry that is a total time machine.
The Mustang and Integra both have the advantage of already having MD titles and being MD inspected, so at least I won't be spending any extra money to fix either one before I can get tags for it.
The Camry is interesting to me, but probably won't float SWMBO's boat.
The Integra also could be turned into a fun little track and autocross car if she tires of it quickly and wants to move up to something a bit newer and nicer once she has her job.
I really have to go test drive the Integra this week.
If it's going to be hers & she has a long commute, you need to let her pick which one she wants. You'll be happier in the long run if she has a car she likes and heaven forbid if you pick one she doesn't like. Of course that is after you have determined it is acceptable from a mechanical condition. No point in getting something she likes that sits in the driveway broken all the time.
This.. I think you should get this if she'll be racking up the miles.

Damn...if that Insight were manual, I would've emailed him already.
I guess I need to read up on the CVT in those...

Holy crap that Insight is an amazing deal. Holy crap. If that was local i would seriously own it tomorrow. God damn.
I wouldnt sell my 342k mile example in way worse shape with inop battery for $2600. The fact that you can get one with 60% of the mileage with a recent battery replacement and some other recent work, for less than what my semi-broken one is worth to me, is friggin sweet.
I'm showing it to my partner when she wakes up.
If you are interested and willing to travel I know a guy who buys, sells and parts Insights on the side.
The problem with Integras is that many of them are modded and driven into the ground. But if you can find a good one, I should think it would be an excellent choice.
